Classical Theater

Premiere at Teatre Lliure, Spain, 2020
Produced by Teatre Lliure, 2020

This audio-visual piece was created within the Teatre Lliure’s online presentation space and as part of the Clàssics per a criatures section, in collaboration with Javier Burgos. It was designed in a digital format while also being thoroughly theatrical.

It is a freely adapted, feminist version of this classic, for children from 8 to 88 years old, told by a grandmother. The protagonist of this version is Rosaura, and spectators become detectives who must choose which clues to follow to discover the mystery in the piece. The work invites us to wonder why power exists and how it is exercised in our times; it invites us to dream while awake and to fight for freedom, that which enables us to choose to be what each of us wants to be, regardless of design.
